Our journey began in fire...

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness—beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart..

The Review: "I've always seen you, angel. From the moment you found me, I've seen nothing by you." -Gideon
<
I finished reading this a while ago and I totally forgot I hadn't written a review for it yet. Bared to You was fantastic. It was my 'post Fifty Shades' read. And it really didn't disappoint at all.
<
What can I say?  I was completely captivated with the story from the moment I started reading this book. I'd heard so many great things about this book before picking it up and I couldn't wait to get started, and once I did, I couldn't put it down! This book will just sink it's claws into you from the get go. Eva is pretty awesome, there were times I wanted to just shake her and she annoyed me when she kept running away from Gideon anytime something got a little weird. Gideon is powerful. He's a rich, sexy, dominant alpha, who will leave you reeling after every chapter.
<
Bared to You is quite the emotional rollercoaster. Both characters have nasty pasts, which include bad childhoods this leads them on a road to discovering the strengths within themselves and the strength they find in each other to help them cope. Their sexual relationship is extremely passionate and very, very hot. Quite possibly, hotter than that of Ana and Christian. That's right, I said it! There's a lot of sex in this book (hell it's erotica!) and you will be left feeling a little hot under the collar ;)
<
The story itself was gritty, but enthralling. Sylvia Day has created a world that is incredibly thought out and deeply emotional that will leave you sleep deprived and wanting more. The only gripe I had with this, and I can't put an exact finger on what it was, but there was something lacking. After having finished this book a while ago I still can't put a finger on what it was, but there was something and that something is the reason for only 4 stars and not 5. None the less, it didn't take away any essence of the book for me and I still really enjoyed it.
<
I'm annoyed the Deeper into You isn't out until October, but rest assured when it's released I will be nabbing that baby up! I need some more Gideon. Like soon.
<
I'm going to leave you with a few of my favourite quotes and a quick image of the perfect Gideon (thanks to Lindsey and Wendy on Goodreads):

“I want there to be happily-ever-afters for the f**ked-up crowd. Show me the way, Eva honey. Make me believe.” -Gideon

“He was the kind of guy that made a woman want to rip his shirt open and watch the buttons scatter along with her inhibitions.” -Eva

“Are you sleeping with anyone?”

The question was asked so casually it took a second to process what he’d said.

I inhaled sharply. “Why is that any business of yours?”

He looked at me and I saw what I’d seen the first time we’d met—tremendous power and steely control. Both of which had me taking an involuntary step back. Again. At least I didn’t fall this time; I was making progress.

“Because I want to f**k you, Eva. I need to know what’s standing in my way, if anything.” - Eva & Gideon

Now for your viewing pleasure: Gideon Cross

Note: This book is for 18+ due to coarse language, and explicit sexual content.

That quote was by Cary. ;)

I agree great book. She also changed the name for the 2nd book 3 times already. The new title is Reflected In You. I'm hoping she releases it before Oct. :(

Bloody awful book. No need to use the c*** word..majority of sex scenes crude and badly written. Not a patch on fifty shades!

This is literally my favorite book of the year! Who is the guy posted in the pic as Gideon. He IS the perfect Gideon. Out of all the actors suggested to play him in a movie, my closest choice would be Joe Manganiello but I always come back to this guy posted as my number 1 choice. I think it is much better written than Fifty Shades.

Liked the book but not a patch on 50. It was too short and just ended. the sex scenes were good but to repetitive. i miss christian grey.

I just feel its a 50 shades rip off .... The similarities are unmistakeable!! But i did enjoy it.

Yeah I agree, was really wanting the take me there fifty shades feel but was let down by the in your face similarities. Enjoyed it but needed and wanted it to be original not a knock off

Love your review! For me it was also a post-fifty read. What would you recommend now? I love those romantic possession-like novels!

I enjoyed reading this book & I can't wait for the 2nd book to come out. It's annoying that I have wait until Oct. I found this book just as exciting to read as fifty shade of gray. I agree this story is more realistic than fifty shade of gray.

I'm sorrry but thise of you who are comparing this book to Fifty Shades and or say that it is better written are crazy. This book is hard to follow. The author has not done a good job developing these characters so I never had a clear understanding or image of any of then. Also, its very far fetched. They literally had about 3 conversations before Gideon pleaded to Eva to stay with him and make things work. It doesn't come close to Fifty Shades in any way shape or form. It doesn't come close to most books I've read. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish reading it. Such a Fifty rip off but a horrible one. Disappointing.

Good grief, I finished this book last night and I can’t believe I even make it to the end of the story. In my own opinion, Fifty Shades is better than this. The beginning and the phasing of the story is so pathetic and lame. The sex scenarios–given that it’s repetitive is something I didn’t even enjoy reading that I have to skip whenever that part appears. I drag to the end hoping there’s something to long for in the characters story but it just disappoints me.

I love your review. I read 50 shades and loved it. And I also read Bear to you and I enjoy the book. Each book should be judge on their own. Do they have similarities yes. This is the formula for all erotic books. This is why I enjoy reading them. I cannot wait to read the other books in the crossfire series.

Angel who says that? 50 shades was so real I feel it worked because it was written emoitionly not perfectly. It states at the start of the book better written than 50 shades so they have tried to compare from the start. I find it hard to understand the charactors and the story is so quick and I agree using the word cxxxx is not very romantic! I hope the next book moves a little slower and lets us get to know the charactors a bit better.

Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the
simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get
annoyed while people consider worries that they
just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
