Facing an unstable future, Chela Prizeon leaves Castle Hayne and crosses over to enemy territory in pursuit of Faris--the boy of royal blood who is cursed by a bitter rival. But soon Chela learns that he has been taken deep into the treacherous frozen prisons--a majestic, but deadly place where people enter and are never seen again. To find the boy she loves, Chela must join forces with one of her greatest enemies. And even though she pulls strength from the good in her powers, she finds herself drawn to the dark side's temptation as well.

Narrated from both Chela's and Faris's point of view, this enchanting sequel to When Copper Suns Fall will take them on a voyage into unknown lands, where the dark, twisted, and revengeful wait to make this their most dangerous journey ever.

Please Note: This book contains mature content including profanity, drug/alcohol use, and sexual situations/language.

The Review: 3.5 Stars!

I enjoyed When Silver Moons Rise just as much as the first in the Lost Immortals series. We start the book with life going back to normal for Chela, with her brother Micah on the mend, things seem to be on track. Faris has gone off on to get help in his mission to save his sister Asa from Rabia, the tainted who has her trapped in another realm but things don’t go accordingly as he is faced with someone from his past whose word may not be true. Through their bond Chela becomes aware that something isn’t right, Faris has been gone months, she’s getting strange dreams & feelings - so she decides to take matters into her own hands. She enlists the help of a couple of friends and sets of to save him, but when they are parted, she puts herself in worse danger as she tries to make it to her destination and forced to make an unlikely alliance just to survive. Will she save Faris? Or will she fail and all hope will be lost for our Champion?

As I said, I really enjoyed this sequel. I think the first book got a bit bogged down with information about the world it was set in because it was filled with rules & expectations, how people were expected to act etc. but this seems to be a lot lighter because we really had the freedom to get to know a lot more about our main characters. We get to see a bit more of what Chela is made of and to what lengths she is prepared to go in her efforts to free Faris. We get to know a lot more of Faris’s past through the memories he recalls and of course we also get to know Seth a lot more through his bond with Chela & Faris’s memories too. All of this gave some great insights into the characters so the reader can really start to connect with the characters inner workings because the more we find out, the more our first impressions are changed, especially Seth – we all know book baddies aren’t always as bad as they appear, particularly when they are a love interest – and we start to see the unravelling of Seth as his goodness shines a little. To be honest, I’m still not even sure whose team I’m on because whilst Faris is awesome, there’s just something about a bad/evil boy hiding his inner light that appeals to me.

The storyline was a great progression, I liked that it introduced more people & places. I liked that Faris’ past is brought to the plot and links in with getting to know him better, where he is at for a large amount of time has my curiosity, especially when we find out there are some familiar faces there which also loops around to involve Seth’s past. The baddie is good in this too and through the situation we see a lot more of how far reaching the treachery goes. It did have the feel of players being introduced and like it was setting everyone in their place for what will become inevitable which was not a bad thing. There was action & danger aplenty that carried on throughout, holding my interest all of the way through and it held a nice pace & easy feel. I really like the connection Chela has with both boys and what that could be used for in the future, I like seeing Seths walls come down a bit, I love Faris’ protectiveness & love for Chela and I loved Chela’s devotion to him and also her alliance with Seth. I’m also looking forward to see where all this will lead in book 3 – a great sequel!
